Sony Allegedy Canceled Unannounced Sci-Fi Shooter After 3 Years of Development

Final Strike Games was working on it.

Rumor has it Sony has canceled an unannounced sci-fi shooter after three years of development.

Twitter user Timur222, citing a laid-off developer, shared that Final Strike Games had been working on the game but had to drop it per Sony's order. The shooter for PlayStation 5 and PC was just two years away from release. Timur222 also said 40% of the studio employees were let go.

Final Strike has developed Rocket Arena and provided live services support for Fortnite. At the moment, its website still mentions the allegedly canceled title as an "unannounced new IP AAA PVP shooter for PC and console."

Unfortunately, cutting down projects is not a rare sight at Sony. Earlier, PlayStation veteran Shuhei Yoshida admitted that the company cancels many games.
