Autodesk has announced that their team will be integrating Substance Source, a library of physically based materials, into 3ds Max.

This is actually a complete redesign of the Substance plugin that we’ve had for a few years, which makes authoring photorealistic materials in 3ds Max a lot easier now with better performance, 8K visuals and a brand-new user interface.
Used in combination with Substance Designer, the Substance plugin for 3ds Max gives users the ability to easily create physically based materials by opening and tweaking Substance files. Resolution rates have also been increased to 8K, providing users with enhanced visual quality when creating high-end renderings.
The Substance plugin runs on the latest version of Substance Engine and 3ds Max users will benefit from updates that arrive simultaneously with Substance Designer updates.
