Sucker Punch Clarified It Is Not Working on New inFAMOUS and Sly Cooper Games

The developers clarified that there are "no plans to revisit" either of the franchises anytime soon.

On Friday, Sucker Punch released a blog post where it officially denied the rumors that new inFAMOUS and Sly Cooper games are in development. According to the studio, it currently has "no plans to revisit" either of the franchises as it now focuses on its "current project."

"As our games continue to grow in scale and complexity, they require the full attention of our studio. With our focus on our current project, we have no plans to revisit inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper right now, and no other studio is currently working on projects related to those franchises either," the blog post reads.

The studio also noted that these games and their characters are still "very special and near and dear to our hearts" so it probably might return to the game series one day, but reiterated that there are no inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper games in development at the moment.

The clarification comes after various "industry insiders" stated that Sucker Punch is working on the next installments in the inFAMOUS and Sly Cooper franchises. Some even claimed that the studio might announce a new title during a PlayStation showcase event in September 2022. With the new statement, the developer hoped to put "some misleading rumors to bed" and adjust fans' expectations.

While Sucker Punch hasn't announced anything new including what project it is currently working on, it noted that it will still be supporting its old titles for as long as it can. The developer stated that it will be performing maintenance on the inFAMOUS 2 user-generated content servers in order to keep them online for "a bit longer" as well as will soon put Cole’s Legacy DLC for inFAMOUS Second Son on PlayStation Store.
