According to the most recent news publication, Supercell will have Tencent’s backing in China and will more aggressively try to conquer this market. Tencent will acquire about 84.3 percent of Supercell via a wholly-owned consortium, including all of SoftBank’s 72.2 percent stake.

Tencent expects to maintain a 50 percent voting interest, but there will be opportunities to outside investors. Supercell created a number of successful games, including Boom Beach and Hay Day. Their biggest hit so far is Clash of Clans.
