Tencent to Support System Shock 3 Development

Otherside Entertainment revealed that the development of the long-awaited System Shock 3 will now be led by Chinese giant Tencent.

“We are happy to announce that Tencent will be taking the System Shock franchise forward,” wrote the team. “As a smaller Indie studio, it had been challenging for us to carry the project on our own. We believe Tencent’s deep capabilities and expertise as a leading game company will bring the franchise to new heights.”

The rocky development road began in December 2015, but then they had layoffs of senior staff earlier this year, and other problems, so we hope that the Chinese giant will help them release the game.

It is worth noting Tencent also owns parts of Riot Games, Epic Games, Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft, and other game companies.
