The Art of Sculpture - Sculpting Heads in ZBrush
3 September, 2019

The digitalClay channel has shared the first episode of The Art of Sculpture series that will tell you about sculpting heads.

In EPISODE 1 we learn to sculpt by feeling the main structures of the head. We also learn a simple system of proportions which gives truth and realism to your work and it’s easy to remember so that your head doesn’t feel “flat” or lifeless. You can get the brushes used in the video here.

“DigitalClay is a new manifesto for digital sculpture,” states the team. “We’re concerned with learning, honing and sharing the art of sculpture. We strive to make art and learn how to make it. Zbrush is our favourite medium but we also love real clay.” The goal here is “to empower a new tribe of sculptors while honing, practicing and learning the craft with weekly atelier-style exercises,” said Rodolfo Fanti.
