The Drifter: Pulp Adventure Thriller about Man Trying to Solve His Own Murder

A nostalgic point-and-click game in development.

Take a look at The Drifter – an upcoming "pulp adventure thriller" that tells the story of a man trying to solve his own murder.

"Mick Carter's been drifting a while now - never staying one place long, moving from job to job. Forced to return to his old hometown, he witnesses a violent murder, is pursued by mysterious armed men and killed."

The Drifter is being developed by Powerhoof, a two-person indie studio behind Crawl and Peridium drawing inspiration from works of King, Crichton, and Carpenter, "with a dash of 70s Ozploitation." The fast-paced point-and-click mystery brings Mick back into his own body seconds before his death and drops him into "a mad web of shadowy corporations, murder, and the thousand-year obsession of a madman."

Expect to see an intriguing story with a lot of "down-to-earth" puzzles. If you'd like to know how the game is created, check out the developers' vlogs on YouTube:
