The Game Awards 2020 Date Announced

Geoff Keighley will return with his annual show in December.

Geoff Keighley announced the date for The Game Awards 2020, the annual awards and game celebration event. The show will be back on Thursday, December 10 and the 2020 edition will be different, of course, because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The Game Awards 2020 will stream live from three locations: Los Angeles, London, and Tokyo. Keighley promises the annual award presentations, musical performances, and world premiere game announcements.

There will be no virtual audience, but Keighley said that fans who co-stream the awards on Twitch and other platforms will still offer sense of excitement.

There will also be a new award: Innovation in Accessibility. They want to use this award to recognize “software and/or hardware developers that are pushing the medium forward by adding features, technology and content to help games be played and enjoyed by an even wider audience.” It appears that The Last of Us 2 will definitely get the win this time with all its options.
