Three days after releasing the new Ghostbusters game, developer Fireforge Games goes bankrupt. It is stated that the studio has been liquidating
The studio was founded in Irvine by ex-Blizzard employee Tim Campbell in 2011. It has started and stopped production on at least two MOBA-like titles over the past five years. The first one, called Zeus, was due to be published by Razer, while their second one, called Atlas, was funded by the Chinese publisher Tencent.
It is stated that Fireforge owes over $11.3 million to Tencent. The studio studio has also been entangled in a lawsuit with a Singapore company called Min Productions, owned by Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan. Tan says that developers from Fireforge were not able to deliver on their contract developing Zeus, and used the money from Razer to work on Atlas with Tencent. Fireforge states their developers started working on Atlas once Razer had stopped paying them.
