The Witcher Series Sold 50 Million Copies

CD Projekt Red announced that The Witcher series sold 50 million copies across all platforms.

The number includes every paid Witcher game including The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which has sold over 28 million copies alone.

"This is a record-breaking first quarter both in terms of revenues and net profit. This outcome was attributable mainly to continuing strong sales of The Witcher 3, which has just celebrated its fifth anniversary. Celebrations are due: I’m pleased to inform that aggregate sales of all games from The Witcher series have topped 50 million copies," wrote Piotr Nielubowicz, Vice President and CFO of CD PROJEKT, in the latest financial report.

The company reached this number thanks to a mix of discounts, the release of a Nintendo Switch version, and The Witcher Netflix TV series that made more people buy the Witcher games in December 2019.

CD Projekt Red's next game in development is Cyberpunk 2077 which is set to release on September 17. The team is now preparing A Night City Wire presentation on June 11 that feature more details on the games.
