This Indie Parkour Game Stands Out with Genuine Parkour Experience

It could be the "game that scratches that itch that other games just don't."

Released for Early Access on May 21st at $15.99 USD, the solo-developed project, Rooftops & Alleys, made an impressive start. The game, built using Unity Engine 5, garnered over 1,000 reviews in less than a week, boasting a remarkable 98% positive review score.

If you didn't catch our earlier coverage on the game's animation, be sure to take a look at the gameplay trailer first:
Such a remarkable achievement naturally raises the question to me — what's behind all the praise? The answer seems simple. Rooftops & Alleys fills a niche in the gaming market for a dedicated Parkour/Freerunning game. This isn't a game where you "hold a button to parkour." Here, you are in control, and together with fluid animation, it offers an immersive and genuine parkour experience.
The game is the brainchild of a solo developer, MLMEDIA, who was driven by the desire to create the dream game he believed was missing in the gaming world. After being under development for roughly 8 to 9 months, the game continues to evolve. The goal is to deliver a fun single-player experience with various maps for free roaming and self-challenging.
As previously reported, Rooftops & Alleys uses Cascadeur for vibrant animations, and MLMEDIA, who also created the soundtrack, optimized the game for controller use, though it supports keyboard and mouse. Notably, some users have mentioned that it runs flawlessly on the Steam Deck.
