Tips on Geometric Patterns and Ornamental Art from Ishan Verma

Ishan Verma, a material artist from Ubisoft India Studios, has recently joined Substance by Adobe to talk about creating intricate textures with Substance Designer. The artist specializes in realistic textures and material creation for AAA games.

Ishan is 22 years old now, and he has recently started his career as a material artist at Ubisoft. At Ubisoft Mumbai, the artist is working on the recently announced Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, India’s first AAA title. 

He uses Substance Designer for most of his work, but he also uses Photoshop or ZBrush for creating custom masks and minor tweaking. Sometimes he uses Substance Alchemist and also Substance Painter to create custom hand-painted textures and importing them to Substance Designer.
