It might ultimately be proof of concept now, but the point of showing a low-count bounce raytracing that still looks decent especially after denoising gives us a nice roadmap on the future. Maybe given time, we will move to this as the new standard or at least a probable alternate to baked lighting.

Tutorial: Capsule Shadows in UE4

Kemal Gunel has shared a new guide to setting up capsule shadows in Unreal Engine 4. This set of tricks can give you a more grounded look, so take some time to study the tutorial.  

In this tutorial, we will learn how to enable capsule shadows for our characters to get more grounded looking. For scene setup I used “Soul: Cave” assets and “TPS Template”. Lighting and quick level design by me and thank you very much.
