Have a look at a new tutorial on how to make interior environments by FastTrack Tutorials.
FastTrack Tutorials has released a new great tutorial course on creating interior environments for games. In it, Senior 3D Environment Artist Emiel Sleegers will teach you how to make environments both small and large, you will learn the techniques to create almost any type of interior environment, and even use these techniques in your exterior environments and asset creation.
The course covers a range of topics, the largest of them being:
The course offers over 44 hours of content divided into chapters. You will start with creating your blockout assets and building your environment in Unreal Engine 5. Then, you will create procedural materials, Unreal shaders, and final structural assets.
After this, you will quickly create your assets and a special shader for them that will give you control over procedural dust, dirt, and much more.
You will then create foliage using SpeedTree, place your assets and foliage in the environment, add some extra decals, and then move on to the lighting and post effects. Finally, you will finish up by polishing your environment. Sleegers also promises to show how to create portfolio screenshots and flythrough videos.
The tutorial is meant for people familiar with 3D modeling and Unreal Engine. The work will be done in the following software:
However, the author says the techniques used are universal and can be applied to other programs, like Blender or 3ds Max.
All 121 videos have auto-generated subtitles in English, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese, so don't worry about the language barrier.
You can get the tutorial for $49.99 with a Personal License and for $399.99 with a Commercial License on ArtStation. Don't forget to use a special code EIGHTYLEVEL to get 20% off.
