Twitch VP of trust and safety shared that the streaming platform is "definitely working" on more detailed ban notifications.
Twitch's current policy on ban notifications might be updated soon. That's according to Twitch VP of trust and safety Angela Hession who, in a recent interview with The Washington Post, said that the streaming platform may start providing the users with a more detailed explanation of why they have been banned.
Currently, streamers who got banned are only told the rule that they have broken, while the specific reasons of what exactly they did to break it are not mentioned in Twitch's notifications. This policy frustrates many streamers as quite often, they sincerely do not understand why they have been banned.
It's worth noting that throughout the years, Twitch's suspension emails have improved a lot, although this issue still concerns a major part of the community.
According to Hession, changing this policy is what the streaming platform is "definitely working on". "Safety is a journey, and this is a number-one ask from our community," she said. "So we’re looking at how we can attach more details for people to understand – like the video itself." She also added that more "specifics and clarity" will be shared after Twitch has found out the right way to implement the feature.
It remains to be seen when and how the streaming platform will roll out this new feature, but it's already great to know that it is on the way.
