Twitter Is Crazy About 5-Minute Pokémon Challenge

There’s a new Pokemon tag on Twitter and it’s one of the best things that happened in months. Someone thought that it would be really easy to set up a Pokemon render, and people are now making quick renders and sharing them using the ポケモン5分モデリング tag (a Japanese hashtag that can be translated as “five minute renders.”).

The thing is that you just can’t make a great render in 5 minutes — that’s totally impossible until we get some AI tool that could make a render using your description, but why not? The whole thing started with one fan thing being unhappy about the reveal that not all Pokémon will be available in the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield and thinking that adding them all would only take five minutes each.

Challenge accepted! Artists around the world started making renders to prove that it takes a lot more than just five minutes. Yes, it’s a silly game, but it’s so much fun, so we had to share some of the “great” 5-minute renders with you.
