Do you remember the infamous 'ugly' Sonic from Paramount Pictures' Sonic the Hedgehog? He's made a brief comeback in the new Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers live-action. There, he's selling his merch, signing photos of himself, and trying to make it through life.
He references the criticism the model got when it was first published, saying that this time, people will "like me for who I am, not like last time when the internet got one look at my human teeth and burned the place down."
And yes, he is perfectly aware of what everyone thinks of him, "Oh, they’re laughing at me. I know that. You can’t hurt my feelings if I’m in on the joke."
Sonic, voiced by Tim Robinson, even says he got a role in a reality TV show called "Ugly Sonic, Uglier Crimes," where he does ride-alongs with the FBI. Good for him.
