Unity Signed Contract to Help U.S. Government with Human Machine Interfaces

The partnership with CACI International should solidify Unity as the preferred real-time 3D platform for future systems design and simulation programs across the government.

Unity has signed a three-year multi-million dollar contract with CACI International to advance the development of smart human machine interfaces. This contract is "a strategic deal that helps to solidify Unity as the preferred real-time 3D platform for future systems design and simulation programs across the US Government."

CACI is an information technology company that provides services to many branches of the US federal government including defense, homeland security, intelligence, and healthcare.

Last year, Unity developers started questioning the company's ethics for working on the government's military projects. According to Vice, some employees might be creating technology that is used for military purposes without realizing it.

It's not clear how the contract with CACI International will influence Unity's products, but the company is excited about the deal.

Last month, Unity announced it was merging with an app monetization platform ironSource, a fact that was met with criticism from some developers. Later, mobile technology company AppLovin offered to acquire Unity for $17.54 billion.
