Unreal at SIGGRAPH: The First-Ever User Group and More

Epic Games has shared a recording of the first-ever Unreal Engine SIGGRAPH User Group held at LA’s Orpheum Theater on July 31, 2017. It was a jam-packed, 100-minute showcase, featuring 20 presenters across multiple industries.

The company announced the Datasmith beta, their workflow toolkit for architectural and design visualization, covered real-time production (‘The Human Race’, ‘Fortnite: A Hard Day’s Nite’, ‘Zafari’), digital humans (‘Meet Mike’), autonomous driving (Zoox), large datasets (HOK, CityEngine), and new Unreal integrations (Twinmotion, V-Ray).

It appears that Epic Games was killing it at SIGGRAPH:

One technology receiving a great deal of attention at Siggraph this year was the game engine. Unreal Engine from Epic Games showed off new uses in architecture, product design, and product marketing… Petit noted how game engine technology is built for storytelling, and storytelling is moving to VR.
