Hmmm, i'm assuming that you're talking about the base of the plant moving as much as the top? If so, not really unless you wanted to make your own custom shader to control only the top vertices in the mesh. Right now, inside of the foliage shader, it's a super basic grass wind node that comes with the base version of Unreal... Let me know if you find a solution for this :)

Hi Lincoln, Thanks for this. I found it incredibly informative. Could I ask you a question about your wind + plant movement? Is there any way to stop it looking like the plants are rooted in moving water. I find it horribly distracting and pulls me out of my suspension of disbelief. Cheers, Tudor

3d-io has released Unwrella 3.10, a new version of unwrapping plug-in for Autodesk 3ds Max and Autodesk Maya. The latest update brings speed, stability and performance boosts.

Added flatten unwrap mode

New UV tile creation process

The new version offers you instant unwrapping and optimal UV packing in self-customizable UV tile sets. Easily control the number of UV tiles, automatically generate material IDs for each UV tile or unwrap the UV tiles according to material ID settings.

Maya update change log

Fixed a problem that made it impossible to unwrap an object with one or more very large UV charts when using tile distribution mode.

Fixed an issue where unwrapping in tile distribution mode sometimes didn’t work with certain mesh topologies.

3ds Max update change log

Fixed a problem that made it impossible to unwrap an object with one or more very large UV charts when using tile distribution mode.

Performance increases

Faster UV data initialization, improved performance for tile mode distribution, prevented slowdowns when objects share a plug-in instance.
