Víctor Montero's UE5-Powered Water System Gets Upgraded

The enhanced version of the system features "support for dirt" and can automatically cover a character with mud.

Technical Art Director Víctor "VMonty" Montero, who earlier this month released a series of demos providing a look at an impressive Unreal Engine 5-powered system for creating digital water, continues working on the setup and sharing the results along the way.

This time, the creator presented an upgraded version of the system that features "support for dirt" and can precisely detect dirt level on character and surface attributes, enabling the developer to automatically cover characters with mud by submerging them into the digital water. According to the author, the setup is evaluated per-pixel.
