Chaos Group has revealed that V-Ray Next GPU will now support NVIDIA’s RTX class of GPUs to speed up production rendering.
"It’s something we’ve been working on since RTX was introduced over a year ago, and we’re happy to report that all V-Ray GPU features are seamlessly supported in both IPR and production modes - and multi-GPU scaling continues to be extremely efficient," wrote the team.
More acceleration is provided by using the RT Cores to ray-tracing calculations. Basically, you can harness the full power of RTX class GPUs.
The RTX support start with V-Ray Next for 3ds Max, update 3, and it’s free to current V-Ray Next for 3ds Max users. The team noted that RTX support will be coming soon to V-Ray Next for Maya and updates for other V-Ray suites.
