Video Games Raised $23M on Kickstarter in 2020

408 crowdfunding campaigns met their goals in total.

Video games projects raised $23 million on Kickstarter in 2020, the team revealed. This is the highest number since 2015 (a 35% increase year-on-year).

It is worth noting that the number of crowdfunding campaigns for video games decreased compared to 2019 (1,331 compared to 1,403 in 2019).

There were 1331 projects total with 408 meeting their goals (the highest number since 2014). Most of the projects had a funding target of under $50,000. Also, six games raised over $500,000: Kindred Fates, Sea of Stars, My Time at Sandrock, and 3 other games.

What is more, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes raised over $3 million, and it is the most successful video games campaign of the year. The Wonderful 101: Remastered and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous both raised over $2 million.
