The upcoming update comes with a shallow water fluid solver, enabling fluid simulation on Height Maps.

Software developer Virtual Method has shared a new demo showcasing an upcoming update for FluXY, the team's GPU-based fluid simulator for Unity that simulates 3D-looking 2D fluids, enabling its users to set up fire, smoke, paint, water, trails, and other VFX.

The newly-revealed demo provided a look at a shallow water fluid solver, set to be featured in FluXY 1.5. According to the team, the solver will enable fluid simulation on Height Maps, allowing one to set up realistic-looking waves and vortices.
