This piece of history holds a lot of interesting info for the future generations. It should be said, that this is the revised and updated version of the design doc. The original was much more ambitious, with 36 tracks. However the reality did not allow the developers to build the games’ of their dreams. Instead they have created some of the best sci-fi racers in history.

The document has the detailed description of the world history, manufacturing details of the vehicles, pilot characteristics, weapon systems descriptions, special effects and audio requirements.

The coolest thing there is the Music section, which features the recordings by The Prodijy, XL Recordings, Carl Cox.

You can check out the interview with Nick Burcombe (the creator of the original game) on GamesTM website. It’s an amazing read for beginners and veterans alike.
