As the Community Manager for Minecraft Java, you’ll act as the bridge between our players and our development teams. You’ll be responsible for crafting authentic communication, managing engagement channels, and representing the voice of the community within Mojang.
This role blends storytelling, relationship-building, and strategic thinking. You’ll collaborate closely with our Product, Marketing, and Development teams to amplify player voices, share news, and nurture a positive, inclusive environment for millions of Minecraft fans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary community liaison for Minecraft Java Edition, fostering trust and dialogue between players and Mojang.
- Develop and execute community engagement strategies across social channels, forums, and official platforms.
- Create and publish authentic and engaging content — including blogs, patch notes, Q&As, and community highlights.
- Partner with product, development, and communications teams to translate complex updates and technical changes into clear, player-friendly messaging.
- Monitor community sentiment, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights to internal stakeholders.
- Manage and grow relationships with creators, modders, and server operators, celebrating their creativity and contributions.
- Help shape the tone and voice of Minecraft Java’s presence across all community touchpoints.
- Support the planning and execution of community campaigns, livestreams, and events (e.g., Minecraft Live).
Required Skills:
- 2+ years public relations, marketing, community management, social media management, or communications experience OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Journalism, Communications, or related field AND 5+ years public relations, marketing, community management, social media management, communications, or related experience OR 7+ years public relations, marketing, community management, social media management, communications, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years product-relevant industry experience (e.g., gaming, entertainment).
