As a Senior Concept Artist, you will be a creative force driving our vision for a new science-fiction game. Collaborating closely with the Game Director and Art Director, you will explore visual ideas that will define the look and then develop those ideas from sketches to polished pieces ready to be used in production. Initial work will involve ideation on the fundamentals of the setting, and later the role will transition to defining game-specific concepts. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate with the Game Director and Art Director to explore and establish the visual aesthetic of a new science-fiction narrative RPG, through sketches, concepts, and look development. 
  • Bring strong creative ideas and an ability to polish them to high quality, through sophisticated art techniques in lighting, composition, materials, and rendering methods. 
  • Participate in story, game, and design discussions, and help explore new ideas through sketching and rough concepts that quickly illustrate different possibilities. 
  • Create concepts for specific game needs as well as your own proactive ideas inspired by the theme of the game. 
  • Listen to feedback from stakeholders and translate it into actionable plans when appropriate.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience in videogames, TV, or film 
  • A portfolio showcasing your experience with sci-fi concepts of characters, objects, environments, ships and creatures 
  • A passion for science-fiction and a talent for producing original creative ideas  
  • Ability to use 3D software as part of your workflow 
  • Self-motivated and able to collaborate well with team members of all development disciplines
