This is an exciting opportunity to help Aardman take our gaming capabilities to the next level with the ambition of designing epic character and narratively led games for the console and PC market, alongside varied work on mobile and web titles for our high profile client base.
You’d be joining a small team of Directors and Game Designers, led by the Group Creative Director, where your remit will be to ensure the excellence of our studio’s game design. We will also be looking for your expertise to help inform our gaming strategy and develop the capabilities of our creative team.
Job Title: Senior Game Designer
Contract: Staff – Permanent
Full Time: 37.5 hours per week, worked 9.30am – 6pm
Salary: depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP
In this role you will be responsible for a number of individual projects – from the generation of an idea through to its full creation and ongoing life cycle, spanning both new business and live productions.
For a new business, this requires the moderation and facilitation of idea generation, successful communication of these ideas, advising on timings and developing an idea through to proposal and presentation. Once a project is in production you’d be leading on the overall vision, game design, usability/playability, and strategic direction working closely with the Producer to deliver products to the exceptional quality expected from Aardman.
The role requires excellent creative thinking and communication skills and a deep passion and knowledge of games and all things digital. This passion should be infectious, inspiring the team to push boundaries, and be the best they can be.
