Rockstar Games is currently seeking a versatile and experienced Senior Generalist Artist to join our team and help bring our immersive game worlds to life. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and adaptable artist with a deep understanding of both 2D and 3D pipelines, capable of contributing across environments, props, and characters.

 

This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s state-of-the-art game development studio in Sydney, Australia.

 

WHAT WE DO:

 

  • We create visually stunning and richly detailed open-world environments that support gameplay and storytelling at the highest level.
  • We design, model, and texture everything from sweeping landscapes to intricate props and lifelike characters.
  • We collaborate closely across departments to ensure assets meet gameplay, narrative, and technical needs.
  • We uphold the quality, consistency, and artistic integrity that define Rockstar titles.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Create high-quality 2D and 3D assets for use in environments, props, characters, and visual development.
  • Work across a wide range of styles and visual targets while maintaining Rockstar’s artistic standards.
  • Collaborate with Art Directors, Leads, and other disciplines to develop cohesive and engaging in-game visuals.
  • Own asset development from concept to final implementation.
  • Help define best practices and pipelines for asset creation and integration.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • 5+ years of professional experience in game development.
  • A strong generalist portfolio that includes environments, props, and characters.

 

SKILLS:

 

  • Advanced proficiency in industry-standard tools such as 3DS Max and Photoshop.
  • Experience with real-time engines such as Unreal or proprietary engines.
  • A strong sense of form, scale, proportion, and color theory.
  • Solid understanding of the technical constraints of game development and optimization.
  • Deep passion for video games.
