At Latent (https://www.latent-technology.com) we’re reinventing how games are made using cutting-edge AI. We’re building a new foundation for interactive movement based on real-time physical behaviors and AI — a system that could redefine how games are created and experienced. To get there, we’re tackling some of the most challenging and beautiful problems in game technology.
We’re looking for a versatile, London-based Technical Artist who can bring this technology to life visually and sensorially inside Unity. You have a broad creative and technical background: you know how to make a scene feel right — whether that means tuning shaders, lighting, and materials, integrating characters and props, connecting sounds to in-game events, or building small moments that showcase emergent gameplay. You’re as comfortable experimenting as you are polishing, and you are passionate about finding interesting ways to showcase technology.
You will help us define the look, feel, and sensory experience of new kinds of emergent experiences. You’ll also work closely with our dev team to build, polish, and showcase interactive moments — from in-game visuals and shaders to dynamic sound design and cinematic captures.
Also, you pride yourself in being a generalist, you are curious and capable to learn about anything and you are capable of working independently.
If you don't fit perfectly in this description, but you are driven and you think you can learn what it takes, then we would love to hear from you as well.
What you will do
- Define and refine the visual and sensory identity of our playable tech demos and prototypes.
- Integrate and tune 3D assets, shaders, lighting, and audio to achieve cohesive, beautiful results.
- Create in-engine clips, vignettes, and experiments to showcase our technology.
- Collaborate closely with the dev team to prototype, iterate, and polish emergent interactions.
Responsibilities
- Deep Unity experience (materials, shaders, VFX, lighting, post-processing, optimization).
- Ability to create or modify assets in Blender, Maya, or Substance.
- Understanding of sound integration (Unity Audio, FMOD, Wwise, or equivalent).
- A strong eye for aesthetics and detail.
- Curiosity, independence, and the ability to experiment across disciplines.
- Self-driven / have a growth mindset: Ability to collaborate, but also take the lead and work independently when needed.
What we offer
- Early-stage EMI stock options (benefitial tax treatment) with amazing growth opportunities.
- Competitive salary.
- Flexible policy for working from home. Although we are not hiring remote positions, we allow for some days a week working from home.
