LUSH RECORDINGS

STRING ENSEMBLE was recorded in collaboration with acclaimed software string instrument developers Audiobro. For maximum realism and versatility, a comprehensive list of long and short articulations, including sordinos, trills, staccatos and octave runs, were recorded in exceptional detail with separate half sections to ensure True Divisi. Even the soloed close mic mixes sound spectacular – a significant achievement for a string library. The final mixes were created to deliver the sound of contemporary soundtracks right out of the box.

APPLY DETAILED REALISM

The Dynamics knob allows you to create expressive real-time performances. Any adjustment intelligently blends the recordings of different dynamic layers for fluid, dramatic tonal shifts. True Auto Divisi, plus polyphonic legato and portamento on all sections provide the most realistic string performances possible on a software instrument.

TRUE AUTO DIVISI

All sections were recorded in two separate A and B parts for a True Divisi functionality. The Auto Divisi engine keeps player size consistent when performing polyphonic legato lines, chords, and phrases. It intelligently distributes notes between the Divisi parts for a highly transparent and realistic string performance in all articulations.

TRUE POLYPHONIC LEGATO AND PORTAMENTO

All sections feature true polyphonic legato and portamento in impeccable quality with up to eight-voice automatic voice-leading in real time. These features are easily configurable and, combined with Auto Divisi, facilitate realistic and true-to-life scores that translate every performance into a unique emotional experience.

UNA CORDA faithfully captures the special sound signature of a custom-made contemporary piano with one string per key – originally created by David Klavins in close collaboration with composer Nils Frahm. Whether you’re crafting melodies for film or simply introducing fresh elements into electronic, pop, or jazz, UNA CORDA offers a tone unlike anything your audience has heard before.

PREPARED PIANO

Draw from three separate sound banks. The first captures the pure, resonant sound produced when each piano hammer strikes a single string. The second and third capture two preparations of material between hammers and strings. Felt offers a gentle tone with reduced attack noise, creating a smooth sound akin to an unplugged vintage electric piano. Cotton delivers a noisier, percussive attack with more overtones.

THE ART OF NOISE

Transform the sound by accessing unique noise and sound design elements. Dial up the noise from fabric preparations, mechanical elements, pedals, and the room to enhance realism or create something entirely new. Incorporate hiss, compression, and saturation from vintage outboard gear to generate anything from dry, gritty textures to liquid pads and swirling effects.

FULL CONTROL AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

An easy-to-use interface gives you full control of instrument parameters. Select from three distinct sound banks. Use the Workbench to sculpt the primary characteristics of the sound. Adjust the dynamic characteristics and add overtones in the Response section. Then polish your sound in the Finish section by integrating vintage effect chains, reverbs, and more. The interface allows you to easily transform a pure-sounding piano into a noisy, percussive instrument or ambient soundscape.
