Titanfall 2: Behind the Single Player

Respawn Entertainment employees talked about their work on the single player campaign for Titanfall 2 FPS. The developers described how they wanted to set it apart from campaigns in other video games.

Game director Steven Fukuda thinks that the unique personality of Titanfall 2 single campaign comes for its variety. Senior game designer Chris Dionne claimed that the game offers a unique player experience. Single player designer lead Mackey McLandish promised that in the campaign gamers will get different titan loadouts and will be able to experience different aspects of the multiplayer mode.

The single player campaign will offer massive combat spaces long with low-key moments were players are going to explore the environment using their pilot mobility. According to lead game designer Jason McCord, the team brought in some puzzle mechanics into Titanfalls’ sequel. The FPS campaign will also have gamers fighting in boss battles.

Respawn Entertainment devs wanted the players to have a strong bond with the BTA titan featured in the campaign. In order to do so they’ve added a lot of moments in which the pilot and the robot split-up.
