Best Multiplayer Maps in History of FPS

Here’s a list of the best multiplayer maps in FPS games as seen by Red Bull’s Jon Partridge.

This little post comes from an unlikely source – the official webste of Red Bull (the energy drink your doctor advises you not to consume but you still do). Jon Partridge picked up some of the greatest maps in the history of online first-person shooters. We thought it would be great to revise some of these awesome maps, especially if you are working on your own multiplayer title.

The list provided by Red Bull has a lot of the popular games, including Counter Strike, Halo, Quake 3 and of course Unreal Tournament. Here are the maps mentioned in this piece.

Counter-Strike: de_dust2

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare – Shipment

Halo: Combat Evolved: Blood Gulch

Battlefield 3: Caspian Border

Call of Duty: Black Ops: Nuketown

Quake III Arena: Q3DM17 (The Longest Yard)

GoldenEye 007: Stack

Team Fortress 2: 2fort

Halo 3: Last Resort

Unreal Tournament: Facing Worlds

This map was actually redone for Unreal Tournament 2015. It looks even more beautiful with some modern shaders.

Do you have any other cool maps in mind? Please add them in the comments. For more details about the creation of multiplayer maps be sure to check out the interview with Ben Burkart, who shared some of his ideas on multiplayer maps creation.
