Half-Life 3 is alive. Sort of.

With new screenshots of the cancelled DLC Half-Life 2 Episode4, new rumors about Half-Life 3 arise in the Internet.

There’s a lot of news about Half-Life recently. These are rumors mostly, but still we’re always interested to learn some more about the hypothetical game, which may never release. The first piece of news is connected with Half-Life 2 next episode.

According to Valve Time, Arkane Studios was developing the project about a decade ago. The game was cancelled and all the assets were basically thrown away. The project was known by Return to Ravenholm name. Some of the environment art images were discovered in the portfolio of Robert Wilinski. He was actually an environment artist at Arkane from 2007 to 2008. It looks very good and you’ll definitely want to play some of this game. But you can’t. Be sure to check out some nice images of Half-Life 2 recreated with UE4.

Other piece of news is a little more optimistic. Steam Database & NeoGAF revealed a massive number of upcoming titles, including Final Fantasy X and Half-Life 3. It doesn’t mean that we will actually see Half-Life 3 this year, but we’ll definitely see the project some day. Some sources say, that this project will be a VR-exclusive for HTC Vive. However, we have nothing to prove this theory so far. Though some well-informed redditors believe that the Half-Life 3 entry is actually a joke.
