Unity acquired Engine Room Games from Bristol. New team will help the company to focus on Unity PlayStation development. The two companies have been working together for a while, so there’ no surprise in this deal.

Since early 2013, Engine Room Games have contracted with Unity, but we’ve recently been fortunate enough to be able to persuade the team to join us on a permanent basis. This makes us happy, because it means that the future of Unity PlayStation development is in very good hands

Unity Technologies

PlayStation VR seems like a big deal for modern game companies. Analysts believe this device will win the first round of the VR-competition, becoming the bestseller next year. Unity Technologies does a lot of work for VR, upgrading their engine, adding support for 3D audio and other cool features. Working together with Engine Room Games will definitely help Unity to develop its technology much faster.
