With "Operation Clean Up", Helldivers 2 Players Are Trying to Reverse Their Negative Reviews

The game's already boasting almost 73% positive reviews.

Sony recently reversed its decision to require PC gamers to link their Helldivers 2 accounts to the PlayStation Network, spurring the game's community to take another action.

If you remember players were bombing Helldivers 2's Steam page with negative reviews to make Sony revise its plan, and, as a result, the game quickly got a "mostly negative" status on the Valve platform, with over 200,000 negative feedback from the fanbase.

After Sony's drastic change of heart, the Helldivers 2 community has established its own initiative called Operation Clean Up. It urges players to leave positive reviews to restore the game's reputation on Steam. The Helldivers subreddit moderators kickstarted the campaign with a post that features a mock-up of an in-game Major Order message.

"Helldivers; should you choose to accept this major order," the post begins (via IGN). "Please consider reversing your Steam review. Arrowhead has worked very hard to make this game special, and you the player have shown both Sony and Arrowhead that your voice matters too."

Operation Clean Up, much like the real Helldivers 2 Major Orders, has gathered a lot of people who decided to complete a new mission. Since May 6, the operation has garnered an impressive 72,000 positive reviews, leading to a shift in Helldivers 2's recent reviews from "mixed" to "mostly positive".

I'm sure that we'll soon see an "overwhelmingly positive" status on Steam, as helldivers seem to be working really hard to complete this clean up mission.
