Character Art Courses at XMD Academy

XMD Academy provides various courses for artists who want to enhance their skills and learn the workflows in different software. Their courses go in 2 versions: Live and On Demand. The On-Demand version has all the recorded material, and the Live version includes all of that plus the class-time with the teacher. 

Here are the courses on character art: 

1. Moving Between Dimensions: 3D Printing Mastery

A 3D printing course from Eric Askue, where you will learn about the software, printers, various production pipelines, and how to cut up models right. He will also share some tips on how to make the printing process less difficult.

2. Character Creation for Collectibles

Spicer McLeroy will teach you how to produce characters in ZBrush for Collectibles. During the course, you will work in Substance Painter, Marmoset, Unreal, and Keyshot. By the end of the course, you will know how to create female/male characters in ZBrush, will be aware of the common anatomical mistakes and how to avoid them and have skills to create clothes in Marvelous Designer.

3. AAA Salon: Game Hair Creation

Ashley Sparling will take you through the creation of the game-ready hair that you can use in your personal projects or a professional pipeline. During the course, you will learn how to work in XGen and Fibermesh. The course will give you the necessary knowledge on the topic and the hair salon CG tools to help you create nice hair for AAA games.

4. Game Character Creation: Concept to Completion

The course by Adrian Martuneac provides a step-by-step guide through the whole production of a humanoid game-ready character. During the course, you will learn basic design rules, how to model, texture, and prepare your character for a game engine and how to work in UE4.
