Cyanpuppets' Free Offline Motion Capture Software Is Underway

The developers of Cyanpuppets have announced they're working on a free non-real-time version of the AI motion capture tool and building new digital models to better support the effects of individual video sources.

For those unfamiliar with Cyanpuppets, it's an AI motion capture tool that generates 3D animation based on 2D video, streamlining the process of making real-time 3D content, and quickly turning space into a motion capture environment without the need for calibration or alignment tools.

The 208 key points of the video stream are extracted in real-time by AI, which simplifies and enhances the efficiency of game development, 3D animation, and Vtuber projects. You don't need a professional studio, even individual users can easily complete projects with high-quality captures with just two RGB cameras and a regular computer.

Here are some fun examples of Cyanpuppets use:

It's also compatible with plenty of 3D software such as Blender and Unreal Engine:

Recently, the company behind this tool started teasing the new Cyanpuppets model for delivering a free, non-real-time version of the software that supports single-angle video sources.

Here are the key features of the free Cyanpuppets edition:

  • Upload video to generate FBX
  • Exports in FBX format
  • Supports 150 seconds of video, an unlimited number, no resolution limits
