The hackers also provided a link to a Telegram channel to contact them. Vice journalists managed to enter the chat – in the list of users, there were people whose nicknames coincided with the names of former employees of Riot Games.
At the end of the letter, the attackers noted that even amateurs can breach the Riot security system, and studio employees should be ashamed of the public exposure of their company.
According to the hackers, the main goal of this attack was purely financial gain. They added that Riot has only 12 hours to respond to their email before they expose the files to the public. However, at the time of writing, the attackers have not taken any action, although several days have passed since the message was sent.
