Tutorial: Houdini Fundamentals for Beginners

Mauriccio Torres did 4 introductory videos on the fundamentals of working in Houdini for 3D artists.

Mauriccio Torres uploaded 4 1-hour-long videos covering up the fundamentals of Houdini workflow specifically for 3D artists.

In Part 1, Mao gives a brief introduction to the software, explains the Houdini Node approach, the nodes structure and hierarchy as well as the interface.

In the second part, you will find out about ways to copy objects, starting from the copy theory, moving on to copying several and infinite objects, setting the normals, working with Megascans files, and adding randomized rotation.

The third part unveils the noises approach with a discussion of different types, using different inputs and working with attribute nodes.

The last piece will guide you through mesh cutter techniques, go-to nodes to use for it, adjusting the curve normals, and adding geometry to the curve. In the end, you can also get a few tips on the workflow.
