The guys from Studio MONO have recently launched a new Kickstarter campaign to support their upcoming project.
InSomnia is doing better than ever now, with the recently launched Kickstarter campaign. The project aims to gather about £55k, which is a very modest budget for the game of this scale. The game is set in a dismal dieselpunk setting. You’re in a semi-deserted space metropolis, fighting for survival. Developers are focusing heavily on non-linear plot in an open world and realistic combat mechanics.
It’s a very interesting example of great world building. The virtual metropolis, that floats in the skies is a colossal piece of metal and concrete. Inside it’s filled with various regions, long corridors and impressive cast of characters. The game is built as a single-player experience, but there’s an option of co-op play. The role-playing system is actually very close to SPECIAL from the original Fallout.
InSomnia is created with the help of Unreal Engine 4. I know for a fact that the team started working with their own engine, but they switched along the way. The game has a very specific art-style and great production design. It’s amazing what people can achieve these days with a relatively small team.
You can support the project on Kickstarter and check out the demo.
