Microsoft Filed A Legal Document to Support Epic Games

Microsoft showed its support for the request from Epic Games to prevent Apple from cutting off support for UE.

After the removal of Fortnite from the App Store, Apple informed tech giants that the company will terminate the access to developer’s accounts for iOS and Mac which will eventually lead to issues with games and software running on Apple devices. As a response, Epic applied a motion to prevent the cutting off the support for Epic’s development tools.

Microsoft has shown its support by filing a legal document. In the declaration, Kevin Gammill, general manager at Gaming Developer Experiences for Microsoft, stated that Unreal Engine is a critical technology for numerous game creators including Microsoft.

Moreover, Microsoft has a multi-year Unreal Engine license agreement and constantly works with the engine to make it work with Microsoft’s games.

The declaration includes the point of possible harm for the game industry which can be done by the removal of access to the developer’s account from Epic Games.
