Microsoft Promotes Its Activision Blizzard Acquisition on the London Tube

The current advertising follows similar campaigns, which appeared in various UK newspapers earlier this year.

Microsoft has started promoting its proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard on advertising boards at London Underground stations.

As spotted by The Verge's Tom Warren, digital advertisements featuring the Xbox and Microsoft logos with the message "Call of Duty. For 150 million more players" have started being displayed on the London tube network. At the bottom of these ads, there is a QR code that encourages players to visit Microsoft's website to learn more about the merger.

Microsoft had already placed a similar advertisement before. In March 2023, the tech giant also published full-page ads in the UK's Financial Times and Daily Mail, using the same wording. The ads claimed that Microsoft's plan to merge Activision Blizzard and Xbox would result in "more games, for more players on more platforms."

Microsoft has repeatedly declared its commitment to making Call of Duty games available across numerous devices and platforms following its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. In pursuit of this goal, the company has announced plans to release these games on the Nintendo Switch and the NVIDIA GeForce Now cloud service, among other platforms. To back up its promises, Microsoft has signed a decade-long agreement with both companies.
