New Free Fortnite-Based Lessons on Physics, Design Thinking, and More

Epic presented four new lessons that will help students explore different topics.

The Unreal Engine team presented a new set of free lessons that help teachers discuss different educational aspects using one of the most popular games in the world. The new Fortnite Creative lesson plans will explore science experiments, design thinking, and more. Each ISTE-approved lesson is said to be dynamic helping students think outside the box. The team noted that they are all free, easy-to-use, and designed by actual educators.

Here are the lessons:

  • The Scientific Method With Fortnite. This course will offer students to design and conduct physics experiments using objects in Fortnite Creative. Students will explore which objects react most accurately to impact relative to mass, respond best to gravity, and more.
  • Collision Decision with Fortnite Creative. This one will help determine how close in-game physics get to their real-life counterparts.
  • Create an Escape Room in Fortnite Creative. Students will be introduced to the iterative design process and build their own interactive escape room.
  • Build a Wonder of the World in Fortnite Creative. Students will learn how to build a replica of The Great Wall of China or The Colosseum they can visit in 3D. They will also learn more about the locations' history, size, location, and purpose along the way.
