NVIDIA Has Been "Completely Compromised" By an Alleged Cyber Attack

Parts of its business were "offline for two days". A ransomware group has reportedly taken the responsibility for the security intrusion.

NVIDIA has allegedly been "completely compromised" by a cyber attack. On Friday, The Telegraph reported that America's largest chip company had suffered from attackers resulting in outages of its internal systems including email systems and developer tools. Parts of the company's business were said to be "offline for two days".

It's not clear yet if the security intrusion has compromised the confidential details of NVIDIA or its customers or if it was intended to disrupt the company's systems. However, according to sources cited by Bloomberg, the attack seems to be rather minor.

NVIDIA commented in a statement: "Our business and commercial activities continue uninterrupted. We are still working to evaluate the nature and scope of the event and don’t have any additional information to share at this time." According to the company, the incident is currently being investigated.

Recently, a ransomware group called "Lapsus" has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack. Currently, the group seems to have a ransomware attack of its own allegedly being retaliated by NVIDIA.
