Steam Hardware Survey results has shown that more that 50% of VR devices used on Steam are Meta Quest headsets.
According to Steam Hardware Survey results, over 50% of VR devices used on Steam are Meta Quest headsets. February's update has shown that among all the people who use VR headsets on the platform, 47.09% of them chose Quest 2 while the share of the original Quest users accounts for 3.83%.
This is the first time when the combined usage of Quest headsets on Steam reached this mark, although the rate that Quest 2 shows gradually increases with each month. Apart from Quest, the VR headsets list includes such Meta headsets as Oculus Rift, Oculus Rift S, and Oculus Rift DK2 with their shares accounting for 4.10%, 12.14%, and 0.02% respectively. Adding them to the Quest share, we'll get 67.18% of the overall VR headsets used on Steam. Although this figure slightly decreased compared to last month's 67.27%.
It's worth noting that Steam’s Hardware Survey doesn't precisely reflect the state of Steam VR usage as well as overall VR market performance as it doesn't collect data from Steam's entire userbase and the results that we can see in the list are based on a selection of the platform's current users.
