'I wouldn’t say Halo is of lesser importance, but we have over 20 studios now.'
In a recent Guardian interview, the head of Xbox Phil Spencer talked about the current state of console, their approach to games, and their plans for the future. Among other things, Spencer also talked about the absence of the Halo franchise during the latest Xbox showcase.
"I wouldn’t say Halo is of lesser importance, but we have over 20 studios now," Spencer said. "I’ll go back to the years where I had basically four games – Fable, Forza, Halo, Gears, the four horseman of the apocalypse. We have a lot more games now."
Spencer went on to talk about the leadership change at the Halo team saying he doesn't "wanna force them to talk about their longer-term vision until they’re ready. I think you’ll see some pretty cool things coming."
