Quixel has recently published a video announcing the integration of RD-Textures into the Megascans library. The RD-Textures scans can now be easily accessed with users' Epic Games accounts.
Quixel has also shared that the RD-Textures founder, Chris Schindelar, would join the Megascans team. "With over 10 years of experience of scanning and producing high-quality assets, the talent, and the technical expertise Chris brings to the team, will help extend our flexibility, quality, and love for providing artists with powerful assets," commented Quixel.
RD-Textures library provides top-quality scanned PBR textures for computer graphics and can be used in a variety of fields from film production to video games, offering exceptionally detailed tileable texture sets. According to the companies, the cooperation will bring more amazing assets to the Megascans library giving artists the opportunity to capture the beauty of the world in a more efficient way.
The RD-Textures scans can either be downloaded and exported to a user's preferred software or directly inserted into an Unreal Engine scene. The current RD-Textures customers will still have access to all their purchases and can download them from the RD-Textures website until April 3, 2022.
