Substance 3D Sampler 4.5 Enables One-Click Export To Third-Party Apps

You can now send your materials directly to Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity, 3ds Max, or Maya with Substance 3D Connector.

From the Substance 3D Sampler 4.5 release, you can now send your assets from 3D Sampler directly to any app where the 3D Connector, Adobe's open-source tool to transfer data between different 3D software, has been implemented.

This update enables seamless asset transfer from 3D Sampler to third-party software with a single click, eliminating the need for manual export-import processes and saving time.

At the time of writing, the Send-to feature is available in Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity, 3ds Max, and Maya through the Substance 3D plug-ins.

To utilize the Send-to, make sure you have the correct versions of Sampler, the respective third-party application, and the required plug-ins.

Below are the minimum versions required to enable the Send-to functionality:

  • Unreal Engine plug-in: Released on the UE Marketplace, anything after UE5.4 is fully supported
  • Maya plug-in: Available out of the box since Maya 2025, supported in Maya 2025, 2024, 2023, and 2022
  • 3ds Max Plugin v3.0.0+: Available out of the box since 3ds Max 2025, supported in 3ds Max 2025, 2024, 2023, and 2022
  • Unity Plugin v3.11+: Released on the Asset Store, supports Unity versions 2022, 2021 or 2020
  • Blender Plugin v2.1+: Available on Adobe's site, supports Blender versions 3.0 and above

Furthermore, this release introduces a new category of texture generators called Gradients, along with an Environment rotation filter for HDRI Tools.
