Microsoft Gaming has undergone significant changes recently, particularly after the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. In response to this major industry reorganization, Xbox is making adjustments to accommodate the expanding umbrella of Microsoft Gaming. As part of these changes, Alan Hartman, the former Vice President of the Forza and Fable series, has been appointed as the Head of Xbox Game Studios, which oversees 23 development studios including Bethesda Softworks. Hartman expressed his excitement about this promotion on LinkedIn.
"Thrilled to be representing such an elite set of game creators in my new role leading Xbox Game Studios!" shared Hartman.
Microsoft's recent shakeup might be partly attributed to the announcement of a partnership between AI and Xbox. Embracing the potential of AI, Microsoft aims to leverage these cutting-edge technologies to accelerate the development process. These tools are expected to be implemented across Microsoft's portfolio of game studios and titles.
Also, in a series of significant changes, Microsoft recently shared that Sarah Bond was chosen as the new President of Xbox, marking a pivotal move for the company. Recognizing the need to stay ahead in the dynamic game industry, Microsoft has undertaken an extensive reorganization of its leadership positions. As part of this restructuring, Matt Booty, the former Head of Xbox Game Studios, assumed the role of President of Game Content and Studios, responsible for overseeing Microsoft Gaming, including ZeniMax and Bethesda, making room for Hartman.
